I was coloring with a student today and browsed through the crayons when I came upon some that both amused and disturbed me at the same time...



Yes. Crayons labeled "People Colors." They have buff, peach, ebony, and mocha just to name a few. Oh lord, I cracked up at the ebony. Too bad I couldn't find an ivory.

The other day at work, a couple co-workers and I had a lengthy discussion about flash drives. We talked about memory size, brand names, key-rings/key-chains attached to usb flash drives, & different cool shapes (like a darth vader one). The conversation went on for a while and we all admitted it was pretty geeky, but whatevs. It was fun. And so I want to show the world my new toy. (BTW Thanks Mark haha)

It's not often I publicly express my inner feelings (especially to inanimate objects), but I felt it was appropriate today. These babies comforted me through a rough day.

So I think I discovered I have an odd obsession with cool mugs, cups & glasses.





This one is obviously awesome because:
1. Warriors, duh.
2. Note the basketball at the bottom of the cup. I noticed it while drinking and was pleasantly surprised. Kudos to the designer of these things.
3. It was another part of the free swag from the Warriors. As I've said before, free stuff is awesome.

I was so happy to get this cup for Christmas. It was a cute, somewhat witty environmentally friendly coffee/tea cup. Unfortunately my particular cup has a loose silicone cap and dripped all over my white shirt. UGH FAIL. Hopefully it can be repaired with a new silicone cap...we shall see.

or Art with Elders San Francisco 18th Anniversary Exhibit at the San Francisco Public Library. Elderly folks in care homes are able to have free art lessons and this exhibit was solely of their work. I loved this exhibit because it wasn't the least bit stuffy or pretentious. Each work of art had a picture of the artist and a small blurb about the artist's life. It was simple and inspiring.

tell me you wouldn't be the least bit curious to know what the hell happened if you saw this immediately after exiting bart:



plus this was only half the scene. there were a bunch more policemen, ambulances and even a helicopter. intense, right? ...yea, it's part of the movie or whatever they're filming. haha. off to the side were cameras and stuff again. some people say they're filming an episode of house and i've heard other people say it's an episode of trauma. whatever it is i'm kinda curious to see the episode or movie they're filming.

when i was little i always used to wonder what the mall was like when it was closed. thinking about hanging out in a closed mall both thrilled and freaked me out at the same time. imagine all the fun one could have checking out each store with no annoying salespeople. imagine all the free stuff you could snag. but then also imagine being trapped in a mall with a serial killer looking to kill you. haha. so anyways now that i'm one of those annoying salespeople i had the grand opportunity to finally see what a closed mall is like! (that's sarcasm by the way). all the lights remain on in most of the stores because there are other annoying salespeople closing and cleaning their respective stores. walking through a deserted mall to get to your car is kinda trippy. but the scariest part about having a closing shift: exiting through the mall's hidden dungeons...just kidding, it's really emergency exits, but damn these pictures will explain why i said dungeon. haha.





signs like these make me laugh. are they trying to make me feel safe(r)?
the emergency exit is a long, dark, sketch ass tunnel, and if someone lights a bomb you're fucked...but don't worry you'll be ok because combustibles in this exit are against the law. oh wells. the dungeon is pretty drab. i wonder what would happen if someone put up a poster for a little decoration. would some one take it down? if i ever decide to spruce up the dungeon, i'll definitely take a picture of it.

the bathroom at farmer brown!



i felt kinda creepy taking a picture of the bathroom, but it's ok bec my co-worker did too haha. how cute is that? a bike as a toilet paper holder! tenderloin shandy was the name of the drank i got: their housemade ginger beer + lemon soda + scrimshaw pilsner = citrus-y beer goodness. i highly recommend farmer brown: yummy food & drinks, and a nice mellow vibe. btw it's on mason & market.

why does it look like they're filming a movie outside of city hall? my picture probably doesn't do the set any justice, but they had cameras, lights, directors/actors chairs, a table with free goodies like food (i am assuming for the actors, directors, & crew, etc.). i swear something weird happens there everyday. and i am fortunate to pass by it on my way to work haha.
